3 months Return to us Parts & Labour Warranty on all cars over 5 years or 50,000 miles, 6-month on cars under 5 years old and 30,000 miles.This Warranty is given in order to protect you against any faults that were present on the day you bought the vehicle that may not have been known and therefore not presented.
Warranty cover includes:
The repair and/or replacement of any Failed components only, these faults must be deemed to of been present on the day you purchased the car, this does not include noisy operation or worn components that are still deemed safe, we will only replace parts that are actually broken, the car has a full vehicle health check before it goes on sale and any broken parts will be replaced therefore we know the car leaves us in great condition. Parts and areas covered include: Engine, Gearbox, Brake System parts (not discs and pads), Steering, Suspension, Clutch, Cooling System, Fuel System, Ignition System.The warranty does not include wear and tear items such as: batteries, tyres, all auxiliary drive belts, any rubber hoses/pipes, wheels, wiper blades, bulbs, locks, keys, interior and exterior trim, paintwork or dash lights. The law states that the vehicle must be of satisfactory quality, this is something we aim to surpass, for avoidance of doubt; Satisfactory quality means that the vehicle should be of a standard a reasonable person would expect, taking into account factors such as: Age, value, history, mileage, make, durability, safety, and description.An old car with high mileage would not be expected to be as good as a younger car with low mileage but each should still be roadworthy, reliable, and in a condition consistent with its age/price.
Wear and tear
The dealer is not liable for fair wear and tear, where the vehicle broke down or the fault emerged through normal use, nor are they liable if they drew your attention to the full extent of any fault or defect before you bought the car.
Fit for purpose
Fit for purpose means that you must be able to use the vehicle for the purposes that you would normally expect from a vehicle including any particular purpose that you tell the dealer about before you buy, or which the dealer has advertised or gleaned from your conversation. This would include for example towing or short journey use.
Faults and repairs
If a permissible fault comes to light before 6 months have passed then you are entitled to a repair, It is assumed in law that the fault was present at the time of purchase unless the seller can prove otherwise. During this period, unless you have agreed otherwise, the seller (dealer) has only one opportunity to repair (or replace) the faulty vehicle after which, if they fail to repair it, you are entitled to a refund. In the event of a refund following a failed attempt at repair during the first six months the seller is permitted to make a 'reasonable' adjustment to the amount refunded to take account of the use that you have had of the vehicle since you bought it.
After 6 months
For faults that arise after six months, the burden is on you to prove that the product was faulty at the time of delivery if you want to pursue a claim for repair or replacement.
This warranty does not cover you for any out of pocket expenses, recovery, travel, overnight stays, car hire etc, although every effort will be made to limit these and a courtesy car will be provided where available. This warranty is not transferable. Any faults caused at any time through using incorrect or contaminated fuel, oil, lubricant, coolant or other fluids. Vehicles that are owned or kept by the motor trade or vehicles that have been used for: competitive purposes including rallying, racing, time trial and pacemaking; hire or reward, as a taxi, by a driving school or for commercial delivery purposes such as despatch or delivery courier; or off-road use.Any loss or damage caused by a traffic accident, accidental damage, theft or attempted theft, the vehicle not being used in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, or any act which is willful, against the law or negligent.
Any loss arising from the vehicle not having been serviced in line with the manufacturers plan during the term of the warranty, you not maintaining the vehicle properly as set out in your servicing handbook; through failure to use the manufacturer's recommended type, grade and quality of engine oil; or where the camshaft drive belt or chain has not been changed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Any loss where the odometer has been tampered with, altered or disconnected, affecting the recorded mileage. Repairing or replacing components which have not suffered a breakdown, including repairs to rectify high oil consumption or poor fuel economy where there is no breakdown of a listed component, or the cost of any work or vehicle storage not associated with a valid repair. Any repair, replacement, loss, damage or liability which should be paid or otherwise settled by another company, finance agreement, warranty, guarantee, goodwill settlement or repair; any fault causing a manufacturer recall; any manufacturer modifications; any fault that can be rejected to the seller under the Consumer Rights Act or any fault which had previously caused a fault or failure code to be logged in any computerised system's history where the system was reset without any repairs being made.
We will not pay for repairing or replacing components which have not suffered a breakdownBreakdown or damage to components (whether listed or not) caused by frost, water, freezing liquids, worn friction materials (including a worn clutch friction plate damaging a flywheel), carbon build up, corrosion, oxidisation, blockages, contamination, sludge or silt, or other waste matter that has prevented the components from working properly.
Breakdown (including repeat repairs) or damage caused by poor workmanship by others or faulty components fitted by others, based on information provided by a suitably qualified engineer appointed by us.
Service, maintenance and MOT repair related components including (but not limited to) anti-freeze, brake drums, brake discs, brake fluid & brake friction materials (brake pads & brake shoes), exhaust pipes & exhaust pipe gaskets, filters, grease, oils, sparking plugs, refrigerants and tyres.
Burnt or worn-out clutch components, the build-up of carbon deposits (including burnt or carbonised valves and removing carbon deposits), modifications to components of the vehicle, electronic system firmware and software updates (howsoever necessary), or cost arising from manufacturer recalls.
Vehicles which are owned, temporarily or permanently, by a business or employee of a business set up to sell, service or repair motor vehicles.
Failure of listed components which a qualified engineer, appointed by us, believes has been aggravated due to the vehicle being driven-on after the fault was more than likely to have been apparent to the driver, or due to the vehicle being driven in an unsympathetic manner (for example repeatedly running the engine at full power before the oil has fully warmed up or repeatedly not allowing the engine to reach operating temperature before turning it off). In the case of a vehicle being driven on we will only be liable for the reasonable repair costs the engineer believes would have resulted if the vehicle had been stopped at the earliest opportunity.
Any liability for death, bodily injury, damage to other property, loss of earnings, out of pocket expenses or any other loss caused directly or indirectly by a repair event; any liability caused directly or indirectly by war, riot, or any similar event; by vandalism, theft or attempted theft from the vehicle; or by bad weather such as lightning, wind or flood.
Sundries such as coolants, filters, fluids, lubricants, oils, refrigerants and other working materials will be covered provided the vehicle is not within 1,000 miles of its next due service and that replacement is necessitated by a covered repair.
Aerials, anti-freeze, batteries, brake friction materials & fluid, fuses, heating elements, infotainment & navigation & telephone equipment, lamps, light bulbs, mountings, spark plugs, upgraded or revised software & firmware, windows & windscreens or wheels & tyres.
For your benefit, any components not covered will be charged at Trade rates as will the Labour charge.
